  Allegheny National Forest Region

Few areas in the eastern United States offer so many truly wild areas as this neck of Penn's Woods. Many sportspeople return here year after year and still find new places to explore. Our menu of travel opportunities is awesome. It begins with the half-million acre Allegheny National Forest with thousands of acres of wilderness and endless miles of trails. Below are some of the historic railroads that allow you to view this incredible natural paradise as never before.

Tioga Central Railroad
Tioga Central carries passengers on weekends. There are two trips - a very popular dinner run lasts two-and-a-half hours, and another runs an hour-and-a-half. The line passes through several tiny towns and miles of spectacular, mountainous scenery.

Knox & Kane Railroad
Board in Marienville for an 8-hour ride or in Kane for a 3-and-a-half-hour ride. Enjoy the gorgeous vistas of the thickly wooded hills and valleys of the Allegheny National Forest. You may even choose to spend a night with family or friends in the Overnight Caboose.
